Evelyn Delores Hixson, 84, of Brownsburg, IN and formerly of Linton, IN, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012, at IU Health West in Avon, IN. She was born on July 21, 1927 in Linton, IN to Wilson B. A'TaterA' and Ruth Ellen (Hostetler) Hixson.

Evelyn was a piano and organ player for the First United Methodist Church, where she was also a member. She was also a member of the Linton Ladies Civitan and Alpha Chapter A- Triads.

Evelyn is survived by her sisters: Mary Elaine Hixson of Brownsburg, IN, formerly of Linton, Elinor Rae Marshall of Brownsburg, IN; nephew: Thomas Clayton Marshall, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN and niece: Ann Marshall Saylor of Martinsville, IN.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 1:00 pm at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.

Visitation hours will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
