Evelyn A. Mullis, 85, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012, at the Linton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 18, 1926 in Linton, the daughter of William and Leona (Kirkpatrick) Cullison. She was raised by Dr. MS and Eleanor Mount as her foster parents. She married Harry Mullis in April of 1946.

Evelyn kept a home for her family while working for the General Electric Linton plant for seventeen years. She retired from G.E. in 1986. Evelyn was a member of the American Legion Post #22 Auxiliary, the VFW Post # 7117 in Worthington, the Order of Eastern Star, Columbian Chapter #140. She graduated from Bloomfield High School with the class of 1945.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Orr of Linton; one son, Terry J. (Nancy) Mullis of Linton; grandchildren, Rob (Trish) Whitaker, Becky (Dewayne) Mayfield, Andy (Jen) Mullis and Kara Mullis; Four great-grandchildren, Rylie, Rogan, Kahlia and Sienna. Also surviving are her foster siblings, James Mount, MD, David Mount and Luanna Goetz.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, three sisters and companion Charles Tincher.

The Mullis family is following Evelyn's wishes as no calling or services are being held at this time. A private family service will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield at a later date.
