Garland 'Randy' Gentry, Jr., 69, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at his residence.  He was born on December 27, 1948, in Linton, to Garland R. Sr. and Ruby V. (Dellinger) Gentry.

Randy was a US Army veteran, Vietnam Era. He worked at Crane as an Electronic Engineer before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed playing music and drinking coffee with his buddies. Randy's family called him a Facebook Junky, because he spent hours on the computer using Facebook.

Survivors include: two sons, Jeremy Gentry of Terre Haute and Kyle Gentry of Linton; two grandchildren, Gabe & Brooklynn; a sister, Linda (Ron) Drew of Linton; and his friend and mother of his children, Susan (Fisher) Gentry.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Vernon Thompson officiating. Randy will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton following Military Graveside Rites by Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 21st and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital in Randy's memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
