Obituary

Glen J. Hilterbrand, 74, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. Born in Champaign County, Illinois, on December 21, 1932, he was the son of Glen Cecil and Evelyn (Sumner) Hilterbrand. On February 7, 1995, he married Peggy J. Hunt. Glen was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Korean War. He received the National Defense Award, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. After serving his country, Glen worked as an electrician in the area of heating and air conditioning installation/repair. He retired in 1995. Glen was a member of the Providence Baptist Church, the Lyons American Legion Post #479, and the Switz City Masonic Lodge #676 F & AM.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy, two sons: Mike (Terrie) Hilterbrand of Indianapolis, IN, and Steve (Janie) Hilterbrand of Avilla, IN; two daughters: Debbie (Matt) Galvin of Needville, Tx, and Glenda (Kenny) McPheeters of Crawfordville, IN, and one step-daughter, Carol Phelps of Linton, IN.
Glen was raised with Virginia Crody of Hamilton, IN, and Barbara Decora of St. Petersburg, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no funeral service, however, a memorial will be held at the Providence Baptist Church (of rural Jasonville). The memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 24th, 2007, with Rev. Darren McDonald officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Providence Baptist Church. The Hilterbrand Family has entrusted Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel of Linton with arrangements.

Directions to the church: 54E of Linton to Walmart turn N on Lonetree Rd approx 5 miles to 3rd cross road or Terre Haute Road turn R at sign that reads Providence Church. Go approx 1 mile to church.
