Obituary

Harold W. May, 83, of Linton passed away Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Glenburn Home. He was born on May 25, 1925, in Linton, Indiana, to Cameron H. and Mary Jane (Smith) May. On May 28, 1950, he married Helen L. Duffroy.

Harold served in the US Army during WWII with the 11th Airborne in Japan and the Phillipines. He received four Bronze Stars. He was a farmer and a trucker, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Linton Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; two daughters, Nancy (Terry) Mullis of Linton and Terri (Dale) Mayfield of Mexia, TX; two sons, Randy May of Spencer and Danny May of Linton; seven grandchildren, Andy and Kara Mullis, Chad and Scott May, Amanda Richardson, Nuran and Brent Mayfield and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Carl Rex May of Jasper.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Walter May and one sister, Pauline England.

The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the Linton Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 16, 2008, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Monday. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2008, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with Allen Buzard, Bro. Jerry Carmichael and Warren Shake officiating. Interment will follow at Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn, IN, with Military Graveside Rites given by American Legion Post #22.
