Hazel Marie Stewart, 81, of Linton, IN, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008, at Glenburn Home. Born in Martin County, Indiana on June 30, 1926, she was the daughter of Ermal and Anna (Dove) Phillips. She married Paul Stewart on December 31, 1946, who preceded her in death on January 17, 1980. She was a professional floral designer, retiring in 1989.

Hazel attended Linton First Baptist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Michael (Dee) Stewart of Kinnelon, NJ; grandchildren, Danielle, Stephen and Justin Stewart of New Jersey; two brothers, Harold Hamilton of Scotland, IN and Donald Phillips of Linton.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six sisters, Vera Frietag, Eleanor Lowe, Onieta Duncan, Violet Hudson, Joan Nemeth and Priscella Phillips, four brothers, Wendell Phillips, Robert Phillips, Ermal Phillips, Jr. and Elden McHolland.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2008. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Parker officiating. Interment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton, NJ.
