Iris Jane (Shonk) Richards, 80, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Garden Villa Nursing Home in Bloomington. She was born in Linton, Indiana on March 9, 1933 to Chester and Cecilia Shonk. Iris was happily married to Don R. Richards for over 65 years.

Iris was a homemaker, wife and mother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include: her husband, Don Richards of Spencer, IN; one son, Timothy (Vicki) Richards of Gosport, IN and good friend, Linda Turchi of Linton, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and one brother, Jack.

Memorial contributions may be made in Iris' memory to the Alzheimers' Association or ALS. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family has requested a private viewing and graveside service.

The family has entrusted Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with the arrangements.
