Jack R. Cantrell, 74, of Linton, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Jasonville, IN, on December 15, 1936 and raised by his parents Chad and Wilhelmina 'Billie' (Bridges) Stoops. On February 29, 1964, Jack married LaDeena J. (Moody).
Jack was a lineman and troubleshooter for Indiana Bell for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #22, Linton Masonic Lodge #560 F & AM and AT&T Pioneers. He also attended Bethel Baptist Church. His hobbies included his love of bowling, watching sports, woodworking and car shows.
Survivors include his wife, LaDeena J. Cantrell of Linton; two sons, Chad (Beth) Cantrell of Columbus, OH and Kevin (Rebecca) Cantrell of Avon; and four grandchildren, Kelsey, Kyle, Zach and Kinsey.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 27, 2011, with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue from 9:00 AM until the hour of services on Saturday, May 28, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Doug Cassel officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
