Jack D. Underwood, 91, of Linton, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton, Indiana. Jack was born on September 27, 1921 in Sullivan County, Indiana to John and Myrtle Underwood. Jack married E. Faye Baize on January 29, 1949.

Jack attended the First Baptist Church in Linton, American Legion Post #22, BPO Elks #866 and Linton Mason Lodge #560 F & AM. He was employed as an Assistant Manager for Wickes Lumber Company, retiring in 1983 with 30 years of service. .

He is survived by: one daughter, Kathy (Fred) Markle of Linton and one sister, Wilma Eaton of Columbus, IN.

Jack was preceded in death by: his wife, Faye Underwood; his parents; three sisters, Lucille Price, Carol Rose Shields and Maxine Underwood and one brother, Gene Underwood.

Private Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton with Pastor David Tyra officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Linton Park Fund at the Linton Chamber of Commerce. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The Underwood family has entrusted the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with these arrangements.
