Jacqualan Maye 'Jackie' McKee, 79, of Bicknell, Indiana, passed from this life, on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on August 5, 1945 in Linton, Indiana to Edgar A. and Maye E. (Nierste) Menke. Jackie married her high school sweetheart, Virgil R. McKee on September 18, 1966.
Jackie was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Bill Powers, Dr. Lou Tran and Dr. Elizabeth Mateos for 25 years before retiring. She then became a substitute teacher for North Knox School Corporation for 15 years, the students affectionately called her 'Grammy'. Jackie enjoyed her family time and loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Grammy was a true North Knox fan.
Family left to cherish the memory of Jackie include: one son, Stacey (Lynnette) McKee of Haubstadt; one daughter, Heather (Cory) Earhart of Bicknell; six grandchildren, Macey (Jake) Alsman, Molly (Cameron) Engstrom and Mallory Earhart, Chandler, Emily and Cole McKee; three great-grandchildren, Jax, Mia and Navy Ann; cousin, Marsha (Menke) Kelley; niece, Janessa Crabtree and nephew, J Yagle.
Jackie was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Virgil McKee; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jimmie Yagle.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia with Dr. Darrel Bobe officiating. Jackie will be laid to rest in Sandborn Cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem United Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the church.
