James Dale Pritchard, 59, of Linton, IN, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011, in Linton. He was born in Linton, IN, on April 30, 1952, to William Billy and Mary Margaret Pritchard. Jim married Nancy L. Powell on December 18, 1971.

Jim served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Army as a MP in Korea DMZ. Afterwards he was employed with Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana assigned to the transportation department. He retired in 2001. Jim enjoyed his music, poetry, and the outdoors. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Pritchard; three sons, Dylan (Cassie) Pritchard of Mount Vernon, IN, Jake Pritchard of Cocoa Beach, FL, Joshua (Karin) Pritchard of Evansville, IN; he was also survived by three grandchildren, Avery, Isaac and Zoey; one brother, William "Pete" (Gilda) Pritchard of San Francisco, CA; two sisters, Linda (Tim) Taylor of Linton, Brenda (David) Hughey of Franklin, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 17, 2011. A private family service will be held later. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
