Obituary

James "Oliver" Williams, 77, of Sullivan, Indiana, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Sullivan County Community Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1938, South of Linton to Ivan and Hazel (Allen) Williams. Oliver married Barbara Joslin on October 31, 1959.


Oliver, as he was best known, was a man of faith who loved his family dearly. He was a member of the NRA, he loved to fish, read Louis L'Amour western novels and shoot skeet.


Survivors include: his wife, Barbara J. Williams; one son, Jim (Sara) Williams of Linton; two daughters, Gail (Doug) Bowman of Lawrenceville, IL and Rhonda (Don) Eyler of Terre Haute; 12 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. Brothers, Mike (Diann) Williams of Sandborn, Steve (Donna) Williams of Rockville, one sister Jane Williams of Sandborn; several nieces and nephews also survive.


Oliver was preceded in death by his parents.


A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Lebanon Baptist Church in Midland, IN with Pastor Mike Rotman officiating.


Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
