Janet J. Lease, 76, of Elnora, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. She was born in New Palestine, IN, on August 11, 1932 to Alpha and Flora (Swain) Smith. On May 18, 1952, she married John E. Lease.

Janet was a homemaker and a bus driver for North Daviess School Corporation, retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, John Lease of Elnora; two sons, Jim (Joanna) Lease of Carmel and Joe Lease of Burns City, IN; two daughters, Judi (Bruce) Dillon and JJ (Brian) Arney both of Elnora. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerel Lease; one brother and three sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Janet to the charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 8th, 2009. A private funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 9th, 2009, at the funeral home, with Pastor Mark Sanders officiating.
