Jimmie D. Elliott, 83, of Lyons, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. He was born on January 31, 1931 in Lyons, Indiana to Laina and Sarah Marie (Owen) Elliott. Jim was married to Violet Maxine Perigo (Deceased June 12th, 1987) on February 10th, 1950 and to Jane (Porter) Collins on February 14th, 1988.
Jim was a member of the Linton First Christian Church and was Chairman on the Advisory Board of Salvation Army. He was Vice President at First Financial Bank and Past President of Production Credit Association during his career as a banker. Jim also spent his life farming.
Survivors include: his wife, Jane Elliott; daughter, Lana (John Zweck) Elliott of Longmont, CO; step-daughter, Dee (Randy) Alford of Bruceville; brothers, Donald (Norma) Elliott and David (Patty) Elliott, both of Linton; grandchildren, Brian Mayfield, Leslie (Jon) Cliver, Valerie (Terry) Pigg, Ricki Miller and Rushea Alford; step-grandchildren, Justin Alford and Danielle Vuittonet; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Violet Maxine Elliott; son, Michael Elliott; daughters, Linda Mayfield and Lisa Hall; sister, Nila Hall and granddaughter, Jennifer Elliott.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 12th, 2015 at the Linton First Christian Church, located at 9878 W. St. Rd. 54, with Warren Shake officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
Family and friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 11th and at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 12th.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Jim to the Linton First Christian Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
The family has entrusted all arrangements to James W. Meng, Jr. and the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonpoindexter.com.
