John Carl Begeman, 65, of Sandborn IN passed away Monday, May 28, 2012. John was born on March 29, 1947 in Knox County to Herbert and Ellen Josephine "Jo" (Williams) Begeman.

John was a US Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a self-employed truck driver until his retirement in 2002. John had a great desire for hobbies that included speed or power. He was a member of the VFW Post 9827 in Odon, a member of the American Legion Post #245 in Elnora, a member of the 40/8 Association, the Bicknell French club, as well as a member of the NHRA Drag Racing Association.

John is survived by one son; Eric M. (Yun) Begeman of Evansville, One brother; Dennis H. (Glenda) Begeman of Owensville, IN and two grandsons; Emerson and Terrence.

John was preceded in death by his parents; Herbert H. and Ellen Josephine "Jo" Begeman, and his sister Glenda K. Begeman.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering for John at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, on Friday, June 1st from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be Military Rites at 7PM on Friday. The family has requested that memorial contribution be made to charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the memorial gathering.
