Obituary

John Henry Hancock, 86, of Sandborn, Indiana, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born on February 27, 1928 to Robert and Corlena Mix Hancock.



John was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia, Edwardsport Masonic Lodge, UMWA and was the Past Master of the Sandborn Masonic Lodge.



Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy (Wessel) Hancock; two sons, Ross (Debra) Hancock of Decker and John Hancock of Sandborn; one daughter, Gayle (Nick) Simone of Westphalia; two granddaughters, Lindsey Keller and Lydia Hancock and one brother, Wayne Hancock.



John was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert and Corlena Hancock; brother, Robert Hancock and sisters, Eugenia Tribby, Marie Niedringhaus and Virginia Bennett.



A memorial service for John is scheduled for Saturday, January 10 at 10:30 AM at the Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia.



In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Salem Church Camp Fund.



The family was assisted by James W. Meng, Jr. and the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton.
