John S. Price, 67, of Lawrenceville, IL, formerly of Linton, IN, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at his residence in Lawrenceville, IL. He was born in Kenton, OH on December 7, 1943, to Harry and Leota (Smith) Price. John married Carolyn (Hatton) on December 21, 1962 and she passed away on February 15, 2000. Later he married Peggy L. (Russell) on July 11, 2007.

John was a truck driver for 42 years and he retired in 2002. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #281 Vincennes.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Price; son, Todd Price of Bedford, IN; daughters, Janell Fountain of Jasonville, IN and Pam Price of Linton, IN; stepsons, Johnathan, Craig and Matthew Yarber all of Lawrenceville, IL; stepdaughter, Gerri Earnst of Bridgeport, IL; four grandchildren; seventeen step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald Legget of CA; three sisters, Bonnie Brown of AK, Margie Smith of KY, Dorothy Dennis of Springfield, OH; and sister-in-law, Pam Petrusek.

John was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Carolyn (Hatton) Price; one son, Randall Price; one sister, Mary Lou Lewis and one brother, Tom Price.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the Graveside Service.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery, Linton, IN. There will be no public calling or visitation.

The family has entrusted Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN with the funeral arrangements.
