Johnny Joe "Pinky" Wright, 59, of Sandborn, IN, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at his residence in Sandborn. John was born on April 19, 1951, in Greene County, Indiana, to Dora Blueford 'Bill' and Ellen May (Nail) Wright. On March 7, 1970, John was united in marriage with Sharon Kay (Harper) and they had two sons.
John made his living as a self-employed mechanic. He was a devoted family man with a big heart. He liked spending time with his family, his friends and his beloved Beagle dogs. As an avid outdoorsman, John liked to hunt, fish, and garden. Springtime drew him to the woods looking for mushrooms. He will be sadly missed by the Sandborn community.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon (Harper) Wright; two sons, Randy (Dana) Wright and Michael Wright both of Sandborn; three brothers, Harry Wright of Sandborn, Tom (Sharon) Wright of Linton, and Joe (Melba) Wright of Mooresville; three sisters, Juanita Gilbert of Linton, Shirley (Ron) Marsh of Princeton, and Jessie Wright of Angleton, TX.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral arrangements.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 4:00 PM until the hour of service at 7:00 PM.
The funeral service will take place 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel. Chaplain Scott Rasico will officiate.
