Joyce Ailene (Lawyer) LeFevre, 87, of Westphalia, Indiana, passed away with her family at her side on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was born on December 1, 1927 in Washington, Indiana to Albert T., Sr. and Mary (Cutshall) Lawyer. Joyce became the wife of Charles A. 'Bus' LeFevre on May 31, 1953.

Joyce graduated from Washington High School in 1946. She started working in the Feed Laboratory at Graham Farms and then worked at Fox Ridge Maner for a time before her employment at Charlie's Smorgasboard in Vincennes, where she retired in 2006. Joyce enjoyed being a homemaker and helping with farm operations.

Joyce was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia, Casa Mia Homemakers Club and Daviess County Rural Youth. It was at Rural Youth that she first met her husband and they would enjoy square dancing.

Survivors include: her husband of 62 years, 'Bus', of Westphalia, now deceased; a daughter, Twila Jo Bement and husband Eldon of Vincennes; a son, Scott LeFevre and wife Janet of Westphalia; a granddaughter, Niki Bement of Terre Haute; a grandson, Craig Allan Bement of Evansville; a sister, Beverly (Rosie) Harner of Washington; brothers, Fred (Barbara) Lawyer of Fairfield, OH, Gerald (Eleanor) of Washington, Charles (Linda) Lawyer of Seymour and sister-in-law, Iona Lawyer of Washington.

Joyce is preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, infant Jo Ann Lawyer, Imogene Kirchoff and her husband, Jim and brothers, Joseph Lawyer, Albert T. Lawyer, Jr. and his wife, Betty.

Graveside services for both Joyce and her husband, Charles will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Salem Cemetery in Westphalia. Military graveside rites will be provided for 'Bus' at that time.

The family was assisted by James W. Meng, Jr. and the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton.
