Julia A. 'Judy' Shake, 87 of Sandborn, Indiana went to Heaven on Thursday, October 9, 2014 surrounded by her family at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was born in Daviess County, Indiana on April 19, 1927 to Clyde and Barbara 'Ellen' (Benham) Kent. Judy married Bert R. Shake on September 14, 1947.

Judy was an active and very involved member of the Sandborn United Methodist Church. She spent her years taking care of her home and family and was a farmer's wife. Judy was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include: two sons, Warren (Susan) Shake and Roger (Cleta) Shake, both of Linton; daughter: Barbara (Vaughn) Huey of Sandborn; six grandchildren: Lucas (Jessica) Shake, Casey Shake, Jennifer (Trevor) Gilbert, Jodi Shake, Andrea (Scott) Holscher and Christopher Huey; 5 great-grandchildren: Cadence, Wyatt, Waylon, Whitney and Silas and one brother, Ned B. (Adelyne) Kent of Washington.

Judy was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Bert R. Shake; three brothers, Bill, Jim and George Kent and two sisters, Dorothy Lilly and Mary Jane Klaeffling.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Sandborn United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn.

Family and friends may call at the church on Sunday, October 12 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 13 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Judy to the Sandborn United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
