Kathleen 'Kate' Vaughn (Breeden) Parsons, age 74, entered into Heaven on March 23, 2015 at 3:30 AM at Ketcham Memorial Nursing Center. She was born October 26, 1940 in Murphysboro, Illinois to Harold O. Breeden and Virginia (Cornett) Breeden. Kate married Lloyd W. Parsons on June 4, 1960.
Kate was a 1958 graduate of Odon High School. She was a member of the Odon Christian Church and the White River Valley Antique Association. Kate was known for her generosity and having a "missionary's" heart. One of her favorite past times was sharing her homemade noodles and apple dumplings with friends and family.
Survivors include: her husband, Lloyd Parsons of Odon; daughter, Melody (Mark) Beasley of Odon; son, Steve (Lisa) Parsons of Haubstadt; grandchildren, Adriane (Roger) Callahan, Meredith (Brandon) Firestone, all of Odon, Sydney and Seth Parsons of Haubstadt; great-grandchildren, Hezekiah Callahan and Claire Firestone of Odon; siblings, Virginia Sears of Odon, William Breeden of Spencer and Darrell Breeden of Odon.
Kate was preceded in death by: her parents and siblings, George, Robert, twin brother Clarence, Carl and infant David Breeden.
Funeral services will be held at Odon First Christian Church on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Richard Crabtree officiating. Kate will be laid to rest at the Raglesville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, March 25 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 26 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Evans Memorial Raglesville Park. Envelopes will be available at the church.
