Kenneth W. "Kenny" Hamilton, Sr., 94, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. He was born on February 27, 1917 in Bloomfield, Indiana to Oren and Katie (Warren) Hamilton. Kenny married Violet Lucille (Spice) on May 23, 1936.

Kenny served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed at Wolfe's City Service for 37 years. Kenny's hobbies included being an avid golfer and he also enjoyed wood crafting bird houses. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22.

Survivors include his son, Kenneth (Wilma) Hamilton, Jr. of Linton; grandson, Jim Hamilton of Salem, IN; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Paige Hamilton.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Violet Hamilton, April 1987; three brothers and two sisters.

There will be no viewing and/or visitation services. A private graveside service will take place at Prairie Chapel Cemetery at a later date.

The family has entrusted Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton will all funeral arrangements.
