Kenneth Russell Koenig, 69, of Westphalia, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born in Washington, Indiana, on June 15, 1942 to Russell "Dutch" and Clara (Pieper) Koenig. Ken married Jane Gaultney on November 26, 1964.

Ken was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia, Indiana. Ken graduated from Freelandville High School and also took some courses at Purdue University. He was a lifelong farmer in Knox County. Ken's hobbies included collecting farm signs and other farm memorabilia, as well as pottery collecting. He was a member of the Antique Farm Toy Association and the UHL Pottery Collectors Club.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Koenig of Westphalia; two sons, Russ (Michelle) Koenig of Terre Haute, Kelly Koenig of Sandborn; one daughter, Tiffany Koenig of Vincennes; one brother, Lance (Kay) Koenig of Shelbyville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Dakota and Nicholas Koenig of Terre Haute and Misty Knight of Vincennes, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Friends may call at the Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia, Indiana, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2011 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at the Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia with the Rev. Bill Pieper officiating. Interment will follow in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery in Westphalia. Contributions may be made to Salem United church of Christ, envelopes will be provided at the church.
