Kyle Alan Torgersen, 27, of Terre Haute, IN, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010, in Terre Haute, IN, as the result of a work-related accident. He was born at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, on August 19th, 1982, the son of Ray A. and Keiko L. (Shanklin) Torgersen.

Kyle was a Lineman/Installer for Time-Warner Cable Company in Terre Haute. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at USM.

Survivors include Kyle's parents, two brothers: Ray A. (Elaine) Torgersen, Jr. of Millington, TN, and Kory (Sarah) D. Torgersen of Huntsville, AL; two sisters: Sarrah G. (Shane) Yarbrough of Crossroads, TX, and Kara D. (David) Tierney of Dayton, OH; one niece, Kendra Torgersen and one nephew, Ayden Torgersen

Kyle was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Barbara Shanklin, paternal grandparents, Tom and Mary Torgersen and one uncle, Tom Shanklin.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Crossing at Birchwood, PO Box 670489, Chugiak, AK 99567, in Kyle's name for youth scholarships.

A memorial service will be held at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel at 1:00 PM, on Friday, July 30, 2010, with Rev. David Tyra officiating.

There will be no public viewing, however, the family will host a gathering of friends and relatives, in Kyle's remembrance, at the funeral home from 11:00 AM on Friday until the hour of service, at 1:00 PM.
