Obituary

Leona A. Kirkpatrick, 85, of Linton, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 26, 2009, at her residence. She was born on March 18, 1923, in Coal City, Indiana, to Charley and Effie (Love) Stantz. She married Marvin Kirkpatrick on November 30, 1945.

Leona was a cook for Crane School and Crane Base for fifteen years, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Switz City Christian Church, American Legion Post #22 Ladies Aux., VFW Ladies Aux. and was a pink lady at the Greene Co. General Hospital.

Survivors include one daughter, Patty Hester of Linton; Grandchildren, Ricky Hester of Elkhart, Tammy Wilson of Switz City, Vicky Snyder of Worthington, Tracy Taylor of Bloomfield; and Great-grandchildren, Patrick, Emily, Tasha, Tiffany, Mercedes, Tesla, Levi, Alexis, Megan, Veronica and Jassy. She is also survived by one sister, Lillie Cooprider of Clay City and one brother, Howard Stantz of Spencer.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marvin and one brother, Lowell Stantz.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday, January 29, 2009 where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington.
