LeRoy Earl Liston, 71, of Linton, IN, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Clay County, IN, on November 5, 1942, to Don K. and Ruth D. (Sanders) Liston. On February 13, 1966, LeRoy married Carolyn (Miller) and they had four children.

LeRoy served in the US Air Force. After serving in the military, he became a coal miner. He worked as Asst. Mine Superintendent and Accountant for Peabody Coal Company for 32 years, retiring in 1990. LeRoy was a member of the Saron United Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the BPO Elks Lodge #866.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Liston; 3 sons: Bryan (Erin) Liston of Plainville, Donald (Shelly) Liston of Terre Haute, and David Liston of Linton; a daughter, Brenda (Enrique) Badani of Chicago; 6 grandchildren: Maci, Brayton, Hannah, Hailee, Carter, and Adrian; one grt-grandson, Cayden; and a brother, Wayne Liston of Anderson.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN, with Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Burial will follow at the Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville, IN, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by American Legion Post #22.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel on Monday, May 19, 2014, and an Elks Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Viewing will resume on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Saron United Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
