Mabel L. Garwood, 81, of Linton, IN, passed from this life Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Jasonville. She was born on August 28, 1931, to Henry Jacob and Florence (Hammelman) Taylor.

Mabel was a member of Linton Assembly of God Church where she worked as the secretary/bookkeeper for several years. Her hobbies included working crossword puzzles, Scrabble and reading.

Survivors include two daughters: Karen (Joseph) Barbee of Jasonville and Teresa (Eric T.) Wonders of Port Neches, TX; one son: Jack Garwood, Jr. of Linton, and four grandchildren: Dustin, Travis, Charles and Samantha. A brother, Robert Taylor of Princeton, also survives.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Ashley Jo Barbee, and three brothers: Elmer, Irvin, and Ralph Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2013, with Rev. David Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Calling will continue on Thursday, March 21 from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS (Lou Gehrig's) Association in Mabel's memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
