Mabel Gene Tennant, 86, of Linton, passed away Tuesday, September 4th, 2007, at Greene County General Hospital. Born in Coal City, IN., on October 2, 1920, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Minnetta Pearl (Blackketter) Van Horn. In 1947, she married Malcolm L. Tennant, who passed away in 1993. Mabel Gene work as a Clerk/Typist at Crane before retiring in 1950.

Survivors include one daughter, Libby A. (James) Lynch of Linton; three sons, Charles W. Tennant, Jan L. (Angie) Tennant and Larry G. (Kerri) Tennant all of Linton. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a sister, Joy Anne Van Horn of Linton

Mabel Gene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers John B. Van Horn, Charles W. Van Horn, Jr. and one sister Marie A. Van Horn and also a grandson Brock Adam Tennant.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Thursday, September 6, 2007, and from 9:00 AM to the time of service on Friday. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM on Friday September 7, 2007 with Bryan Sanders officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Linton following the services.
