Margaret M. Lehman, 95, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 2, 2016 in Linton. She was born in Marco, Indiana on May 8, 1921 to Harvey A. and Francis Mable (Bennett) Payne. She married Emmitt Romine in 1940 and later married Ollie J. 'Jinks' Lehman in 1966.
Margaret was a member of the 12th Street Church of God in Linton. She was an Evangelist who had spoken at various churches and enjoyed conducting church services at the Linton Nursing and Rehab Center. Margaret was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother and had also worked at Quaker Maid in Terre Haute for 16 years. She retired in 1966 and began babysitting, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Her favorite pastime was sharing her love of the Lord to others at McDonald's.
Survivors include: one son, Lenard E. Romine of Lewis; two daughters, Jane Ellen Arthur of Worthington and Loretta J. (Jeffery) Romine-Winfrey of Linton; sixteen grandchildren, Kenneth Bowser, Robert Bowser, Terryl Arthur, Julie Bowser, Jamie Bowser, George Keith 'Kipper' Arthur, Annie Shields, Lenard David Romine, Carl Troy Romine, Christina Lynn Gallagher, Jennifer Hoffeditz, Jeremy Collins, Jill Collins, Joshua Collins, Wayne L. Jeffers and Gary W. Jeffers; thirty-two great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by: her parents; her first husband, Emmitt Romine in 1964; her second husband, Ollie 'Jinks' Lehman in 1992; three great-grandchildren, Zachery Bowser, Larry Paul Jeffers and Jamie Addison Bowman; one brother, Roy Payne; three sisters, Opal Faye Criss, Beulah May Bland and Alberta Edith 'Birdie' Payne.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the 12th St. Church of God in Linton with Rev. John Carr officiating. Margaret will be laid to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Lyons.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, June 6 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 7 at the church.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the 12th Street Church of God. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
