Marilyn Joan 'Joanie' Stanifer, 77, of Linton, Indiana, passed from this life to Heaven, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. She was born on March 2, 1947 in Loogootee, Indiana to Grover C. and Mabel Jean (Botkin) Hensley.

Marilyn was very religious. She worked at Wal-Mart as a clerk and retired in 2001. She liked to read and sew.

Family left to cherish the memory of Marilyn include: two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Francis of Avon and Melissa Renee Stanifer of Linton; one son, David Lee Stanifer of Linton; seven grandchildren; two sisters, June Schmidt and Joyce Alumbaugh.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gerald D. Hensley, James Ronald Hensley and Robert Hensley.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn, Indiana with Danny Hillenburg officiating.
