Obituary

Marjorie L. Johnson, 86, of Linton, IN, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. She was born on August 21, 1922, to Paul and Geneva (Hummel) Storey. On December 6, 1940, she married George B. Johnson.

Marjorie had worked as ward secretary for Greene County General Hospital. She was a member of Glenburn United Methodist and the First United Methodist Churches, the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, and Eastern Star Chapter #140.

Survivors include a son, George 'Dennis' Johnson of Munster, IN, a daughter, Debra (Steve) Workman of Linton, IN, five grandchildren: Ryan and Amy Workman, both of Linton, IN, Troy, Leroy, and Gilroy Velasquez all of Munster, IN, and one great-grandson, Slevyn Workman.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George (11/24/1993), three sisters, two brothers, and a daughter-in-law Theresa Hester-Johnson.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 20th, 2009, with an Order of Eastern Star Memorial given at 7:00 PM. Viewing will continue on Wednesday, January 21st, 2009, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday with Rev. Max Slough officiating. Interment will follow at Dugger Cemetery in Dugger, IN.

The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Daughters of the American Revolution. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
