Martha J. Bridges, 92, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Indianapolis. She was born on June 22, 1925 in Clinton County, Indiana to Frank R. and Mary J. (Stern) Galvin. She married the love of her life, James A. Bridges on August 27, 1944.

Martha was a member of the Nine Mile Methodist Church and was a past member of the Manson Christian Church and Greene County Home Economics Club. She enjoyed quilting and growing flowers. Martha worked as a custodian and in the cafeteria at Clinton Prairie High School before retiring.

Survivors include: three daughters, Linda A. (Art) Atkinson of Deatsville, AL, Katherine L. (Marco) Brown of Linton, IN and Mary E. (Steve) Beaver of Mulberry, IN; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Shirley (Morris) Egelhoff of Frankfort, IN.

Martha was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, James A. Bridges; daughter, Jane M. Sallee; three brothers, Francis, George and John Ross Galvin.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Jack Shake officiating. Martha will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, April 13 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM on Saturday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
