Martha Raye Earle, 72, of Linton, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 3, 2014. She was born in Linton, Indiana on August 12, 1941 to Barney and Madeline (Miller) Hensley. Martha became the wife of Herbert E. Earle in April 1962.

Martha was employed at the General Electric Plant in Linton for 25 years before retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and loved playing bingo and boat riding.

Survivors include: two sons, Eddie Earle and Verlin (Melissa) Shields, both of Linton; three daughters, Lisa Helms of Switz City, Brenda (Chris) Hays of Sullivan and Debbie (Joe) Tate of Uniontown, KY; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Herbert Earle; grandson, Dereck Earle; son-in-law, Tim Helms; brother, Larry Hensley and sister, Margie Reed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday, August 6.
