Mary Ruth Colbert, 87, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven on Thursday, March 20, 2014 while at home. She was born on April 1, 1926 in Greene County, Indiana to Charles 'C.R.' and Edith (Bledsoe) Bales. Mary became the wife of William B. Colbert on April 28, 1945.

Mary was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from General Electric Linton Plant in 1985 with 30 years of service.

Survivors include: one son, Harry R. Colbert of Linton; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, William Colbert; one son, William Mack Colbert; one daughter, Dixie L. (Colbert) Duke; two grandsons, William James and Paul David Duke; two granddaughters, Barbara and Carol Duke; brothers, Marion E. Bales and Homer Bales.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Pastor Dan Kemp officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 25 and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.

The family has entrusted the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with these arrangements.
