Mary L."Vernie" Fidler, 90, of Lyons passed away Friday, December 8th at the Lyons Health & Living Center. Born June 22, 1916 in Sandborn, Indiana, she was the daughter of Archie and Oaka (Fry) Howell. She married Hershel D. Fidler and worked at the Blue Jay Cafe Restaurant and Fidlers Sundrys in Sandborn, Indiana until retirement in 1973.

Survivors include two sons: Vernon Dale Fidler of Fort Branch, Indiana and Victor L. Fidler of Sandborn, Indiana, one daughter: Karen L. Hostetter of Lyons, Indiana, nine grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hershel (1994), son, Delbert W. Fidler, three brothers: Archie, Raymond, and John Howell, and four sisters: Maudie, Opal, Bertha, and Dora.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 12th at 2:00 PM EST at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton. Rev. Don Reed will officiate with burial to follow in Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM EST, Monday, December 11, 2006 and Tuesday, December 12, 2006 from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
