Mary Evelyn Overton, 84 of Linton, Indiana, formerly of Odon, entered into peaceful rest surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. She was born on September 14, 1930 in Worthington, Indiana to Curtis Coburn and Helen Clair (Vandeventer) McBride. Mary became the wife of Fred Overton on April 26, 1982.
Mary was a member of the Shiloh Church of God in Odon, Ladies Aide and NAFE. She was a Small Arms Specialist at Crane Naval Base until her retirement in 1990. Mary enjoyed mushroom hunting, watching and feeding her hummingbirds, traveling and gardening.
Survivors include: her husband, Fred Overton of Odon; two daughters, Linda (Rick) Turchi of Linton and Susan (Mike) Wright of Indianapolis; one son, David Jeffery Conklin of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, Lori Ann Christie, Tommy R. Boudreau, Michael L. Turchi, Amy Elizabeth Wilson, Scott E. Hash, Brandon D. Conklin and Ashley Rene' Heutmaker; 21 Great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Mary was preceded in death her parents and one daughter, Carol Jane Boudreau.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary to Southern Care Hospice or the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 22 at the Shiloh Church of God in Odon with Kenny Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
Family and friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton on Friday, November 21 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
