Obituary

Mary Jane Waggoner entered the more immediate presence of her Savior on Sunday, November 10, 2013. She was born on January 25, 1923 in Sullivan County, Indiana to Russell and Mable (Lind) Cleveland. Mary Jane married Louie E. Waggoner on July 22, 1945. They were blessed with two sons, Kent (Jeanne) Waggoner of Columbus, IN and Bryce (Marilyn) Waggoner of Lebanon, OH.

She is survived by both of her sons and her five grandchildren: Jessyca (Aaron) Swinford of Flat Rock, IN, Joshua (Andrea) Waggoner of Columbus, IN, Jo Ellyn (Kevin) Stanton of Greensburg, IN, Kelli Waggoner of Lebanon, OH, and Austin (Megan) Waggoner of Monroe, OH. There are 8 great-grandchildren as well: Ben and Megan Swinford of Flat Rock, IN, Julia, Lily and Joseph Waggoner of Columbus, IN, and Betsy, Luke and Anna Stanton of Greensburg, IN. Mary Jane is also survived by her sister, Opal Rafdal of Indianapolis, IN, two sisters-in-law, Marie Fox of Terre Haute, IN and Shirley Cleveland of Indianapolis, IN and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Louie in October 1978, her parents and her brothers, Robert and Jim Cleveland.

Mary Jane was a lifelong member of the Sandborn Baptist Church where she was active with the choir and American Baptist Women. She also served as treasurer of the Union Baptist Association for many years. She was a member of the Sandborn High School graduating class of 1940. Mary Jane was also active with various choral groups including the Triad WomenA's Choir in Linton. She was employed at PeopleA's Trust Company Bank in Linton, IN for many years.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Sandborn Baptist Church, located at 201 E. College in Sandborn, Indiana. The funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 PM with burial at the Bethel Cemetery in Sandborn. Rev. Mark Thompson and Chaplain Scott Rasico will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the A"Mighty 8th Air Force MuseumA" in Savannah, GA or the Sandborn Baptist Church

The family has entrusted the Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home in Linton with these arrangements.
