Maurice E. Wright, 90 of Sullivan, Indiana passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. He was born on November 1, 1924 in Sullivan, Indiana to Charles A. and Lola (Clark) Wright. Maurice married Floella (Bedwell) Richmond on March 3, 1974.

Maurice was a World War II US Army Veteran having served in Europe in the 66th Panther Division and in the 42nd Rainbow Division. He was a member of the Shiloh Church of Christ, a charter member of VFW 2459, American Legion Post 139 and the Sullivan High School graduating class of 1942. Maurice worked at the Sullivan Post Office for 36 ½ years retiring as postmaster in 1988.

Survivors include a stepson, Randy (Renee) Richmond of Huntersville, NC, a stepdaughter, Kimberly (Aaron) Benham of Linton and many cousins in both the Clark and Wright families.

Maurice was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 34 years, Floella.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15 at the Anderson-Poindexter Dugger Chapel with Pastor Buford Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan with full military honors.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Sullivan County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 14 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.

The family has entrusted all arrangements to the Anderson-Poindexter Dugger Chapel.
