Max E. Potter, 78, of Sandborn, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at his residence. He was born on July 21, 1933 in Knox County, Indiana to Ernest and Flossie (Engle) Potter. On April 5, 1965, he married Shirley Hixson.
Max served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Vest Trucking, Koenig Trucking, AM Risher and Summers Farms. Max was a member of the American Legion Post #22, VFW Post #9297 in Crane and the French Club in Bicknell.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Potter of Sandborn; his daughter, Debby Wesner of Odon; two grandchildren, Braydon and Addyson Wesner, both of Odon; and two sisters, Carolyn Ann Wheeler of Bloomington and Sue Inman of Decatur, IL.
Max was preceded in death by his parents.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 18, 2011 and from 11:00 AM until the hour of service on Friday. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2011, with Rev. Danny Hillenburg officiating. Interment will take place at Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn, with Military Graveside Rites.
