Maxine Wright, 82, of Linton, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at her residence. She was born on November 2, 1925, in Bicknell, Indiana, to Dr. Marion and Fanny Thayer. She married Harold R. Wright on June 29, 1941.

Maxine was a bookkeeper for Rice's Home Building Supply for twenty-five years, retiring in 1988. Her hobbies included clothing, jewelry, shoes and working in her flower gardens. She was a member of the Linton First Christian Church and taught Sunday School for over 40 years at various churches.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathie (Bill) Vickers of Linton and one son, David (Connie) Wright of Ellettsville; Grandchildren: Brian (Joan) Vickers, Brenda (Chris) Gravesen, Darath (Greg) Fisher, Courtney Curtis and Jonathan Curtis; Great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Austin, Cecily, Corinna and Malik; Special Friend; Ed Withycombe; Sister-in-law, Dorothy Carpenter and niece Sharon Dyer.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold, on December 10, 1997.

The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to Bloomington Hospital Greene County Hospice.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2008 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Linton First Christian Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the Linton First Christian Church with Rev. Brian Vickers officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.
