Mildred Eloise Timmons, 88, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan, Indiana. Born in Greene County, on November 30, 1920, she was the daughter of Charles and Freida B. (Swango) Dowden. On February 28, 1943, she married Robert E. Timmons.
Eloise was a member of the Linton First Christian Church and the Prime Timers. She worked for 20 years at the General Electric Plant in Linton and retired in 1982.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Bob) Hunley of Dugger, IN, three grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeff) Hawkins and Bob (Dana) Hunley both of Sullivan, IN, and Tom (Debbie) Hunley of Fishers, IN; three great-grandchildren, one brother, Bill (Rowena) Dowden of Indianapolis, IN, and one sister, Judy (Jim) Miller of Bloomfield, IN.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert 'Bob' Timmons (Oct. 6, 2000), four great-grandchildren and six brothers: Ed, Bob, Ray, Don, Elmo, and Maynard Dowden.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2009, and from 9:00 AM, Saturday, March 21, until the hour of service. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, with Henry D. Mann, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield, Indiana.
