Myrtle J. Miller, 89, of Switz City, IN, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at her residence in Switz City. She was born on July 22, 1922, in Langford, SD, to Mons and Lena (Osness) Flagtwet. On October 27, 1943 she married John W. (J.D.) Miller.

Myrtle worked for FDIC in Washington, DC and also ran the Small Steps Daycare in Switz City for over 10 years. She was a member of the Switz City Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons: John D. (Debby) Miller of Greenwood, IN, Douglas Miller of Switz City, Jeff (Tracy) Miller of Greenwood, IN; two daughters: Sandra (Dured) Townsend of Newberry, IN, Marsha (Herb) Brady of Indianapolis, IN; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and dear friend Cathy Herndon of Switz City.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John W. Miller (March 30, 2005); one son, Ronald Miller; 11 brothers and sisters.

The family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made to the Switz City Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, with Rev. Dan Holtsclaw officiating. Interment will follow at the Switz City Cemetery in Switz City, IN.

Visitation hours will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2011 and from 11:00 AM until the hour of service on Sunday.
