Myrtle Ruth Yates, 93, of Sandborn, IN, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Lyons Health & Living Community. She was born in Greene Co., Indiana to Everet Pruett and Mamie (Brown) Pruett on December 7, 1918. She married Harold D. Yates on February 9, 1948.

Ruth worked at Crane Ammunition Depot, Owens Glass Factory and Gossards Garment Factory in Bicknell where she spent fifteen years. She was a member of Sandborn Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 341 of Odon. She was also a member of the Home Community Circle and the Threads of Joy Needlework Club.

Ruth is survived by nieces, Joanne (Lewis) Hoover of Jamestown, IN and Shirley (Orville) Hale of West Terre Haute, Waynetta (Rex) Brewer of Sandborn and nephew, Ronnie (Mary) Paul of Indianapolis and many friends in Sandborn and the surrounding area.

Myrtle Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold and one sister, Mary Wetzel.

Funeral services will be held at the Sandborn First Baptist Church in Sandborn on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Chaplain Scott Rasico officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery northwest of Sandborn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home in memory of Myrtle Ruth Yates.
