Ned W. 'Wally' Moore, 94, of Ellettsville formerly of Linton, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2014, at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born on August 16, 1920 in Linton, Indiana to Ned Curran and Malinda B. (Lester) Moore. Wally married Shirley W. Gibbs on April 13, 1946.
Wally was a US Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #22 in Linton. Wally spent his life as a minister and also worked in Quality Control at Crane until retiring in 1973.
Survivors include: one son, David (Vickie) Moore of Ellettsville; Grandchildren: Cindy English, Mark (Candice) Moore and Kristi Hornick; Great-grandchildren: Briana, Garrette, Jake, Ashton, Brycen and Keira; brother: Jim Morrison of Shoals and sister Fayetta Christenberry of Guyton, GA.
Wally was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Shirley W. Moore; three brothers and three sisters.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Wally's memory to the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 3 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Kristi Hornick officiating. Full military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family will hold a private committal service.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, November 3 from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 1:00 PM.
