Norma Jane Harper, 78, of Linton, IN, passed away Saturday, April 13th, 2013, at Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan, IN. She was born on February 23, 1935, to Odus and Martha (Marlow) Wright.
Norma was a Surgical Tech for Greene County General Hospital with 40 years of service and retired in 1998. She attended Olive Branch Baptist Church and was a member of the Linton Ladies Civitan Club.
Survivors include a son, Steven Harper of Indianapolis; a daughter Donna (George) Ferree of Linton; 5 grandchildren: Heather Stone, Michael Ball, Justin Norris, Stephanie Dennison and Derrick Harper; 12 great- grandchildren: Damian Russell, Simon Dennison, Justyce Norris, Virginia Norris, Danta Norris, Sean Norris, Payton Ball, Josie Ball, Ava Ball, Wyatt Stone, Parker Stone and Adriann Turpin; and a sister Betty Payne of Martinsville.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a twin daughter, Debra Jean Harper; brothers: one infant, Johnnie, Gene, James and Charles Wright; and a sister, Shirley Ball.
Funeral services will be held at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, with Rev. Myron Young officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Lyons, IN.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Calling hours will continue on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. The family has named the American Cancer Society for those who wish to make contributions in Norma's memory.
