Obituary

Norma Witherspoon, 88, of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born on August 6, 1926 in Madison, Indiana to William F. and Cullie (Brook) Spicer. Norma was married on February 5, 1950 to Dr. William C. Witherspoon.


Norma was a member of the Saron United Church of Christ in Linton. She had earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Nursing and enjoyed her years working as a Registered Nurse. Norma's greatest passion was her painting. Her works of art can be seen in many homes and businesses in the Linton area.


Survivors include: one son, Max (Maureen) Witherspoon of Conroe, Texas; daughters, Nancy Seever of Indianapolis and Beth (Todd) Andrews of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron) Hefty, Abby Andrews, Charles (Sieara) Andrews, Russell (Caitlin) Andrews, Marlo (Jonathan) Mitchell, Max Wm. Witherspoon, Marc Allen Witherspoon and great-grandson, Brackston Hefty.


Norma was preceded in death by: her parents and her husband, Dr. William C. Witherspoon.


Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Saron United Church of Christ in Linton with Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.


Friends and family may gather at the church prior to services. There will be no public viewing or visitation.


In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Norma to the Carnegie Heritage and Art Center, 110 E. Vincennes St., Linton, IN 47441. Envelopes will be available at the church.
