Norman "Jack" Watson, 78, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. Born in Linton, Indiana, on January 28, 1929, he was the son of William Watson and Ina Mae (Cox) Chipman. He married Norma N. Brookshire on January 10, 1959.

Jack was a Korean War veteran. He worked for the City of Linton Police Department for 38 years and as the Chief of Police for 18 of those years. Jack also served on the Greene County Council. He retired in 2001. Jack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Linton Masonic Lodge #560 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute, BPO Elks #866, American Legion Post #22, VFW Post #7118, the Fraternal Order of Police #105, and an Honorary member of the Indiana Sheriff's Association.

Survivors include his wife, Norma N. Watson; one son, Mike (Susie) Goodman of Brazil; three grandchildren: Jeff (Ashley) Goodman, Justin and Zachary Goodman; and one great-grandson, Michael D. Goodman, one brother, Gene (Bernadine) Chipman of Salem, OR; niece, Rachelle (Doug) Smother of Salem, OR; nephew, Jeff (Tylee) Chipman of Salem, OR, and other extended family members.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Mary Ann Sons.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2007. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening. Funeral services will be held at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel on Friday, June 8, 2007, at 11:00 AM, with Bishop Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons, Indiana, with full Military Graveside services.
