Patricia J. Carpenter, 87, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 7, 2015 at her residence. She was born on May 18, 1928 in Hymera, Indiana to George and Mary (Ward) Kenmuir. Patricia became the wife of William Carpenter on December 14, 1947.

Patricia worked as a factory worker until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed being a homemaker, taking care of her home and family.

Survivors include: five sons, Jerry Carpenter of Oaktown, Larry Carpenter of Otwell, William Carpenter of Elnora, Jack (Lori) Carpenter of Washington, IN and Mark (Susan) Carpenter of Elnora; four daughters, Mary (Danny) Burton, Brenda (Neal) Archer, both of Odon, Lisa (Jesse) Emmons of Elnora and Amy Smith of Washington, IN; thirty-five grandchildren; sixty great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Kenmuir of Hymera and one sister, Jean (James) Power of Bay City, TX.

Patricia was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, William Carpenter; one sister; one brother; one half-brother; three half-sisters; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, Indiana with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Patricia will be laid to rest beside her husband in Elnora Fairview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 10 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
