Paul E. Orman, 86, of Jasonville, IN, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton, IN. He was born on December 6, 1924, in Terre Haute, IN, to Roy R. and Sarah (Fulford) Orman. Paul married Patricia J. Linton on March 26, 1946.
Paul retired from Coalmining in 1985 as a Maintenance Foreman for Peabody Coal Company. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Paul is a member of Cornerstone Church in Switz City, IN; UMWA and American Legion Post #22.
Survivors include his wife: Patricia Orman; sons: Michael (Stephanie) Orman of Jasonville, Gregg Orman of Linton; daughters: Paula K. (Keith E.) Jones of Jasonville and Missy (Chris L.) Scott of Linton; 8 grandchildren: Shannon Orman, Brian Orman, Scott Orman, Eric Orman, Leslie Withers, Christopher Jones, Patricia Jones Hall and Alyssa Garo; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother, Willard Orman of Linton and sisters: Myrtle Cox of Linton and Elsie Hays of Connersville, IN.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Herb, Hershel, Harold, James and Charles Orman; one sister, Rose Neff; 5 grandchildren, Brittany and Stephen Daves, triplet girls, and one great-granddaughter, Baileigh Orman.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Cornerstone Blanket Ministry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton at 1:00 PM with Rev. Gregg Orman officiating. Burial will follow at the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN, with full Military Graveside Rites.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, and from 11:00 AM until time of service on Saturday.
