Obituary

Philip Wayne Webb, 71, of Linton, IN, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his residence in Linton, IN. He was born in Birmingham, AL, on February 27, 1940, to Quinton and Leona (Odom) Webb. Philip married Janette Sue (Decourcy) on August 28, 1975 and they had four children.

Philip served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was later employed in floor covering sales, retiring in 2002. Philip was a member of Christ's Church of Linton, the Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22, where he was a Past Commander, Past District Financial Officer and currently serving as the Financial Officer (since 1998). He was Legioner of the Year for District 7 and also for his local Post #22 in 2003-2004.

Survivors include his wife, Janette Sue Webb; a son, Jason (Leslie) Webb of Brazil, IN; three daughters: Debra Carroll of Ellijay, GA; Sandra Hayes and Vickie Webb, both of Cocoa Beach, FL; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one brother, Gene (Pat) Webb of Bainbridge, GA and one sister, Paulette (Polly) Shelton of Michigan City, IN.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, IN, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Thursday, June 9, 2011.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the funeral home with Minister James Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN, with a Military Graveside Service provided by the Linton American Legion Post #22.
